So, after 4 days of intensive rehearsals we finally played our first live gigs: a (not so secret) warm-up gig at The Borderline on 29 November, supporting a band called Perfect Machine - who reminded me a little of Bush and Gavin Rossdale. I think we played a good set and I thought it was funny that people seemed to be so taken with our look - we kept being told how glamorous we were. As we'd kept this gig fairly secret we didn't have a lot of people in the audience who knew us beforehand, so it was really great to get such a positive reaction to our music (and look :)! It was a successful night and we certainly had a good time (apart from the long wait afterwards until we found a big enough taxi to get us and our gear home to Camden). Much tequila-slamming followed once we reached our destination - if I remember rightly...

The day after, on 30 November, we headlined at The Underworld, supported by Loki and a couple of other bands. Our first official gig and we headline The Underworld - a pretty good start I'd say and just what I'd been hoping for. Now if the rest of my daydreaming comes true as well we may be up for playing some amazing festivals this summer - watch this space ;)
As we hadn't done much advertising for The Borderline gig, playing to lots of old and new friends and fans at The Underworld was simply great. As headliners we also got to play a longer set, so we included Charades and Losing Yourself as well and I think they both went down really well, although I think the absolute highlight surprisingly turned out to be Silent Victim.

Unfortunately, I didn't really get to hang out with friends, fans and the other bands much before or after the gig as beforehand there was much to organise: getting all our gear to the venue, putting it up, soundcheck, getting tickets to people, organising the recording of the gig, photographers, and lots of other little bits and bobs. Afterwards unfortunately bands and fans alike were asked to vacate the venue asap, and with tons of equipment waiting to be carted back to where it belonged we couldn't just pop into the bar upstairs for a drink or two like everyone else. This time, however, we'd learned our lesson and organised transport early on, so no long wait outside the venue this time... but instead more tequila-slamming, cava-toasting and I believe some yummy pesto pasta to top it all off!
A great time was definitely had by the four of us and according to the neverending text messages I got afterwards, not only by us - which is great. I'm looking very forward to 12 December when we play in St Albans. It's a little less convenient to get to for us and probably for the majority of our fans, BUT the line-up is amazing and I am looking forward to seeing Danni McCormack (no, it's a girl, not the bloke from the Wildhearts!) and Andrea Wilde perform alongside us.
